PhD StudentPhD student at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, working on how immersive technologies and serious games can support the design and policymaking of complex energy systems operating under deep uncertainty. Previously Head of Research and Development at the Sino-Portuguese Centre of New Energy Technologies — a joint venture between China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) and EDP — where he worked on renewable energy research projects between China and Portugal, and before that a renewable energy policy analyst at the Portuguese Renewable Energy Association (APREN). He holds an MSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering from the University of Lisbon and an MEng in Power Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has published widely and contributed to reports for the World Bank, the World Energy Council, WindEurope and REN21, and has been recognised by the Portuguese Engineers Society and the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He sits on the board of the World Energy Council's Future Energy Leaders 100 programme and coordinates the Energy, Environment and Blue Economy Hub of the Portuguese Overseas Council.
